We have two great technology trade shows, Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and Mobile World Congress (MWC) in the first two months of 2012. Most of the upcoming products will be showcased in these events. Whatever it may be, here we talk about the best five possible products for early next year.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime
The Taiwanese technology maker ASUSTeK has offered the world’s first NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor-powered tablet for early next year. The quad core upgrade to the company’s Eee Pad Transformer will possibly run on the next generation Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The device will be equipped with a 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 32/64 GB storage, 1 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera and many others. In reply to Asus’ quad core tablet, HTC, Lenovo and Toshiba are also reportedly working with quad core tablets. Samsung may also come up with a Tegra 3 powered tablet in near future.
Windows 8
Microsoft is about to unveil the new version of its PC operating system Windows 8. Different from its predecessors, Windows 8 is capable to support devices with ARM processors, meaning that it will run on tablet PCs also. Microsoft’s official hardware partner Nokia is about to bring out a Windows 8 tablet in the first half of 2012. Windows 8 will feature lots of features and capabilities. It will have the latest version of Internet Explorer browser and a groundbreaking user interface thanks to Metro UI.
Nokia Lumia 800
Nokia Lumia 800 is to become the first smartphone from the Finnish mobile maker on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Nokia has announced the first phone on Windows Phone several months after its strategic agreement with Microsoft to produce hardware solutions for Windows Phone. Lumia 800 equips a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon single core processor, 16 GB storage and 512MB of RAM. The device will have a 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. Several WP7.5 Mango features add into the strength of the phone from Nokia and Microsoft team.
Apple iPad 3
As per Apple iPad’s annual product release pattern, we will get an iPad 3 in March 2012. The new iPad 3 will certainly have a quad core chip, iOS 5, high resolution display and better camera. So far, the current iPad version iPad 2, which was launched in March 2011, is the world leader in tablet market. Apple iPad 2 has complete domination over the global tablet market and it has gained more strength with iOS 5, which brought multitouch gestures and iCloud to the device.
Certainly, we can look for an iPad 3 for early next year. There were reports that Apple would roll out the third generation iPad for fall 2011 so as to defend the raising competition from Android tablets. Early next year, iPad 3 will have to face threats from some advanced tablets on Windows 8 and from quad core tablets from Android product makers like ASUSTeK, HTC, Lenovo and others
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (quad core)
Samsung is the first technology maker that developed an Android tablet in war with iPad original in 2010. Samsung’s first Galaxy Tab 7 could largely fight against iPad original’s ruthless domination. Later in 2011, Samsung rolled out the second generation Galaxy Tab 10.1 in fight to iPad 2. According to figures, Galaxy Tab 10.1, arguably the best Android tablet, leads second in world tablet market behind Apple iPad 2.
It means Samsung will no longer keep silence when its Android competitors like Asus, HTC and Toshiba announce Tegra 3 powered high speed tablets for early next year. The South Korean technology maker will certainly emerge out with a quad core powered tablet sooner than later early next year. Samsung’s quad core processor tablet will raise critical challenge to Apple’s possible iPad 3, Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime and others.
